THE SCORE METHOD
How I mark your answers
By Judy M. Wallis, Founder and Interview CoachLast updated
After years on the hiring side of the desk, I know a panel doesn't score "confidence" or "good energy". They look for evidence. Every answer you give in the Practice Lab is checked the same way I'd check it in a real interview.
- Specificity. Did you give numbers, timeframes, team size or the people involved?
- Clarity. Could the panel follow you, and did your action arrive early, or was it buried in background?
- Ownership. Did you say what you decided and did, or did "we" do everything?
- Relevance. Did you answer the question that was actually asked?
- Evidence. What changed because of you, and how do you know?
I'm a tough marker on purpose. For most levels, if your answer has no measurable outcome, your Result score can't go above 2 out of 5, because that's how a hiring panel reads it too. If you're going for your first job, a clear ending counts even without numbers. It's better to find that out here than in the interview.
